India ECE Excellence 2025
At Tykes Early Years, we believe that the early years from birth to age 6 are the most formative of a child's life. Every experience, interaction, and environment shapes the neural pathways that define how a child thinks, feels, and learns for the rest of their life. Our philosophy is built on this understanding.
Play is not a break from learning it is the primary vehicle through which young children make sense of the world. Our classrooms are structured to channel natural curiosity into purposeful exploration. Every activity, every learning corner, and every teacher interaction is designed to honour the child's innate drive to discover.
Our curriculum integrates the best practices of Maria Montessori (self-directed, hands-on learning), the Reggio Emilia approach (environment as the third teacher), Multiple Intelligence Theory (every child is intelligent, just differently), Bloom's Taxonomy (progressive higher-order thinking), and Jean Piaget's developmental stages (pitching learning at the right cognitive level).
Every day at a Tykes centre balances child-initiated play, teacher-facilitated exploration, and structured skill-building morning circle time, learning corner rotations, outdoor play, art and craft, story time, and closing reflection are all sequenced to support physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development simultaneously.
Each methodology is carefully woven into the daily schedule not as isolated activities, but as an integrated, coherent experience every child receives consistently at every Tykes centre.
Monthly themes connect all subject areas into a coherent, meaningful experience. Children see how knowledge connects not how it is divided into subjects. Children explore topics through classroom projects, experiments, field trips, role-play, and collaborative activities.
Science experiments, cooking sessions, field trips, planting, construction, and real-world role-play. Concepts are experienced before they are labelled children learn through doing, not only listening.
Structured free play, guided play, and collaborative play are timetabled throughout the day the vehicle through which social-emotional, cognitive, and physical skills develop simultaneously. Play is never incidental; it is intentional.
Smart boards, structured educational apps, and digital storytelling tools are woven into daily practice ensuring children are comfortable with technology while never replacing human connection and hands-on exploration.
Our curriculum draws on the world's most respected early childhood education philosophies, translated into a structured, consistent daily experience at every Tykes centre.
